family medicine practice is a patient-centered practice

Our family medicine practice is focused on treating acute medical problems, screening patients for risk factors through periodic exams, treating and following up on patients with chronic conditions and promoting a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and physical activity. We also provide quick access to a physician for minor emergencies.

Minor Emergencies

Conditions qualifying for minor emergencies include fever, coughing, ear infections, rashes, etc. Conditions that do NOT qualify for a minor emergency appointment include renewing prescriptions, autism suspicion, yearly checkups, growth delays, developmental delays, etc.
‍Appointment slots are available 24hrs in advance and open at 5:30pm for the next day. Please note that spots are limited.

Exceptionally for the allergists, you must send your request to the following email address: jardinsallergie@gmail.com.
Please provide us with your name, two phone numbers, the name of the doctor who referred you, and your allergy problem.

Blood and Specimen Collection

sampling services are available at the Medicale Le Soleil clinic (CMLS) every Mondays from 6:45 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. and Fridays from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

To prepare your collection of direct debits,
– remain fasted for at least eight hours before the time of collection.

on the day of collection,
– present yourself with the sample sheet given by your doctor
– prepare $25 in cash to pay for the blood collection service
– if you have stool samples, make sure the date and time are written on the container.

the results of the analysis of the samples will be sent to the prescribing doctor approximately two weeks after the collection of samples.

Travel vaccination services are designed to help protect individuals from diseases that are common in other parts of the world. We offer a variety of vaccination services including travel consultations and boosters.

By getting travel vaccinations and following other simple precautions, you can help protect yourself from serious illnesses while you travel. We aim to be a one-stop shop with all travel and non-travel vaccines and travel medications on site.

Echography

Echography is used to visualize countless soft structures, more specifically their shape, contour, and movement if they move. The vessels and structures of the heart, head, neck, brain, eyes, breasts, liver, etc. can be observed through echography. This technique is also what enables parents-to-be to see the foetus for the very first time. Cardiac echography is used when dilating (reopening) certain blood vessels of the heart. Physicians use echography to guide them in order to safely perform the procedure. Doppler echography is usually performed in order to detect an obstruction, a stenosis, or a clot in an artery or a vein.

Electrocardiogram

An electrocardiogram — also called ECG or EKG — is often done in a health care provider’s office, a clinic, or a hospital room. ECG machines are standard equipment in operating rooms and ambulances. Some personal devices, such as smartwatches, offer ECG monitoring. Ask your healthcare provider if this is an option for you.

Musculo-Skeletal Infiltration

Our therapeutic arsenal is varied but we mainly intervene via a range of therapeutic injections (infiltrations) to promote optimal functional recovery of the majority of common musculoskeletal injuries. Since 2010, most if not all the injections we do are done under ultrasound guidance. Multiple clinical studies have confirmed the clear advantages obtained with ultrasound-guided injections.

Injections and infiltrations are primarily suited to people with osteoarthritis. They can be proposed to treat acute pain as well as the early stages of osteoarthritis.

Local Cryptherapy

Local Cryotherapy is used to reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling in targeted areas. Unlike whole-body cryotherapy, which stimulates cold receptors all over the body in order to trigger an internal systemic anti-inflammatory response, local cryotherapy allows us to treat a specific location and is much more powerful and efficient than traditional ice baths.

With temperatures as low as -240 degrees Fahrenheit, a local cryotherapy treatment generally takes about 5-10 minutes depending on the area treated.
